Today in Liepaja in our aid station we will have a man from Ukraine with a bullet wound. There are a lot of people like that, a lot of seriously wounded, and it’s sobering when you forget about the reality of what’s happening again and it seems like the war is somewhere far away. It is very close.
But subjectively the most terrible thing we saw at our terminal was a very small girl of about 5 from Mariupol with a serious shrapnel wound that she miraculously survived. It’s terrible what these people had to go through. It’s scary to imagine the lifelong trauma these children will go through.
Our guys from Ukraine today are in Liepaja. They met us, took us to the terminal, put us on the ferry, everything was fine. A man with a wound, too, but he didn’t want to be photographed. He was very humble, tired, but he kept a positive attitude
The day before yesterday there was a girl with a very cute dog at our Ukrainian aid station in Liepaja
